20 Vos autem carissimi superaedificantes vosmetipsos sanctissimae vestrae fidei, in Spiritu Sancto orantes, 21 vosmetipsos in dilectione Dei servate, exspectantes misericordiam Domini nostri Iesu Christi in vitam aeternam. Amen. |
Jude, servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are loved by God the Father, and guarded by Christ Jesus and called. Mercy to you, and peace, and charity be fulfilled. Dear ones, making all care to write to you of our common salvation, it was necessary to write to you: imploring to overcome for the faith once delivered to the saints. For certain men entered hidden (who were once written before in this judgement), wicked men, handing over the grace of our God unto licentiousness, and denying the only Ruler, and our Lord Jesus Christ. But I want to remind you, once knowing everything, that Jesus having saved the people from the land of Egypt, afterwards destroyed them who did not believe but the angels who did not keep their own principality, but left their own domicile, He reserved for them eternal chains under darkness unto judgement of the great day. Just as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the neighboring cities in the same way fornicated and went out after strange flesh, were made an example, enduring the penalty of eternal fire. In like manner these indeed defiled the flesh, and scorned dominion, and blasphemed majesty When Michael the Archangel when disputing with the devil argued over the body of Moses, did not dare bear the judgement of blasphemy: but said: the Lord command you. But these blaspheme whatever they do not know: and whatever they know naturally, as dumb animals, in these they are corrupted. Woe to them, that have gone the way of Cain, and by the error of Balaam they are poured out their reward, and will perish in the contradiction of Core! These are spots in their banquets, feasting without fear, feeding themselves, clouds without water, that are carried by the winds, autumn trees, unfruitful, twice dead, uprooted, wild waves of the sea, foaming out of their own confusion, wandering stars: to whom the storm of darkness is reserved in eternity. And of these Enoch, seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying: Behold the Lord comes with thousands of his saints to make judgement against all, and to reprove the impious of all of their impiety, which they have done impiously, and of all the hard things, that the impious sinners spoke against God. These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts, and speaking arrogance from their mouths, marveling at persons for gain's sake. But you dear ones, must remember of the words that were predicted by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, they said to you, indeed in the last times will come scoffers, walking according to their own lusts in wickedness. These are who segregate themselves, animals, not having the Spirit. But you dear ones are building yourselves upon the most holy faith, praying unto the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ in eternal life. And some indeed reprove by judgement: but others save snatching up from the fire. And others be merciful unto fear: hating even them, a stained tunic, that is carnal. And him who is able to preserve you without sin and to place you spotless before the sight of his glory in exceeding joy unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, glory and magnificence, command and dominion before all the ages, even now, and unto all the ages. Amen. |
